A long Walk

I failed the driving test yesterday, so today, I thought I would do something special, something you can hardly do without a car : visit a place hard to reach by bus. I took the one single daily bus (which was 20 mn late) with Dear Lucy Patootee and we walked all the way back (2 hours). We were delighted. Although for different reasons (she enjoys the ditch along the road, I enjoy the landscape). I’m less upset than yesterday. And beside, my beloved is making a cheesecake.

I’ve been working with clay lately, I’m having such a great time. I like working directly on molds to create a negative image, it’s a bit of a surprise when after it’s fired, I can use it for the first time.

Two Plates (or tiles):

And a work in progress. I want to try a “cloisonné” technique. This is a mold, so it will of course be inverted. The edges will be raised and will form some sorts of little pools where different colored glazes will melt. I am SO curious about the results!

    As always, stunningly beautiful photos!
And: there’s no reason to be upset as long as there are wonderful furry companions with magnificent ears and cheese-cake in the world. Driving tests really are an utterly negligible issue. You’ll pass the next one, don’t worry.

Here is a song that might cheer you up, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3BKoiHA_UU
It’s by Eivør Pálsdóttir from Føroyar and it does the trick for me any time I feel a little “doon”!
