You always make such cozy rooms: with two fires even. I want to retire in a room like that at the end of the day. I don’t know too many fantasy-type artists who actually draw rooms—I think you appreciate what a reflection one’s “inner rooms” can be of one’s inner world. Also, you live in a place that’s beautifully cold much of the time, so wanting nice cozy places to curl up in after visiting the icy and snowy landscapes are desirable. With a friend and a tray of cakes too. I miss the cold north.

Thank you for your comment, Reifyn, and also for the link to your amazing blog (which I’ve read in its entirety and found very soulful).
Yes, it’s an interesting observation about the lack of “inner rooms” in fantasy. I guess it might be because the focus tends to be on the character or you’re not supposed to stay at home but instead engage in adventure. I like creating home sanctuaries because it’s an expression of myself, of my inner mandala. I find it very restorative. A flying bird and its nest…

I am glad you appreciated the things on my blog—I can’t imagine saying anything if it isn’t from the soul, I think you understand that very well, as your art is a reflection of your Self. To live genuinely is something not everyone does—there is so little time: what else is there?
A bird flying and its nest: that reminds me of your lovely animation in the upper corner: I remember when you first posted that. I’m looking forward to your new one and was glad to hear you’ve been working on one. I’m sure you’ll find some equally remarkable music to accompany. NW Europe has some amazing musicians, and Norway has some of my faves, like Moddi and Einar Stray. I’d never heard of NSRO until your animation, but I love them now. Thank you for the intro!

I absolutely agree, to pretend we don’t have this rich and sensitive inner life leads nowhere, and I think there’s no point in living if it’s not to fulfill our dreams (or at least a few of them).
I’ve read that Moddi comes from Senja which is an island not far from here. It’s also extremely beautiful. Thank you for this reference. Apart from English and American bands, I’m really ignorant.
