Welcome

Welcome to my Inner World. I am a French self-taught artist, and these past seventeen years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. Everyone is an island

I’m having a cosy day at home with Lucy and Pixie, while outside the rain’s falling continuously. I’ve finished my second painted cutout. It’s a topic which is dear to me: the island. It’s also a sanctuary, a place where you can truly be yourself, a cocoon, a chrysalis..You can of course get visitors but in the end, you are alone and … you are enough. Precious solitude in your own microcosms, entertained by your own inhabited depths. All is well.

Dear Fairy Godmother

Here is my first painted cut-out. I had tremendous fun. I love painting on wood and I love oil colors, more than acrylics (which I used a lot before turning to digital painting). I rediscovered the pleasure of mixing my colors on the palette and the soft touch of the paintbrush. I haven’t decided what to do with it yet. My home doesn’t have enough space to store my own art. Maybe, I’ll keep producing and try selling on a Christmas market. or something similar. I have so many ideas… this is going to be fun.

Cutouts

I’ve been wanting to go back to physical painting for a while. I have so many good memories of painting on big wooden boards, drinking tea, and being careful not to drop the paintbrush in the cup (which nevertheless happened more often than I can recall). So I got a scroll saw machine and reopened my box of oils. THIS IS FUN!

I still paint the draft digitally, colors, shades and all, which I find very practical (it’s also quick and it gives me an idea of the final result, even if I’ll improvise a bit on the way).

These COBRA oils are fantastic, they dry so fast and they are diluted with… water! I am so excited about all this!
