Experiment with Felt

I tried to wet felt (without soap so, no rinsing) over one of my ceramic textured plate and the result, although very subtle is interesting. I’ll make another textured plate with deeper indentations for next time.

A Goblin Guardian of Dreams

The whole costume is hand-woven, the head is made of paperclay (with glass eyes). I made the ceramic elements, bead and bird. The body is needle felted. To stiffen the felted collar, I used some fabric stiffener.

Chilling out with a friend:

Brown and Teal

One of my favourite colour combinations. This will be used to dress the chilling goblin, along with the pink/red fabric.

Ladies and gentlemen, and others, let me introduce to you my favourite tools:

The two on the left are called colour shaper tools and I use them mostly for scraping the paint and blending the colours in some areas. But for blending, I use mostly the flat brush on the right.

I made a bad quality video of the doodling method with the “scraper”. First, I lay my colours down and then I shade them into each other with a brush in circular motion. I use Cobra oil paints which are diluted with water. They are FANTASTIC. A layer takes two days to dry (but a shorter time above a heat source) and after that, you can add more layers:

This is the first layer, I’m going to bring contrast.
