Welcome

Welcome to my Inner World. I am a French self-taught artist, and these past seventeen years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate,… Continue Reading

Weaving for the Little People

These days, I weave with a smile on my face, I adore the colors I’m working with. Unfortunately, it’s all acrylic, but once in a while, it’s ok. I will use this for a hat (a pointy hat, of course). I have lots of yarns I use as accents: ribbons, eyelash, glitter and fluff, a palette from Fairyland. This is fun.

It glitters a lot more than the photograph suggests.

New Diorama

Back to my favourite town, the town I sometimes dream of, the Hygge town. It has just snowed, I’m not sure whether it’s the morning or the evening, the light changes constantly. I’ll have to pause the making of my dioramas and work on cutout ornaments for Christmas.

A Scarf for Hagrid

Originally, it was going to be a scarf for my Mum, but it turned out to be a giant scarf. When I wrap it around my neck, it covers my face as well, up to the forehead. And on top of that, it’s a bit stiff, scarves should be soft. The yarn I used for the weft turned out much darker than I expected and felt like boiled wool. Oh well, I already ordered some proper wool for another scarf, soft and the right shades of teal. I’ll be using the “giant scarf” for a skirt perhaps. For the next scarf, I want to incorporate some unspun silk (which I dyed), just a hint here and there. I love weaving SO MUCH!

Hygge

This new painting is called… Hygge. I had actually started it one year ago! It was almost finished, there were just the trees on the left hand side to work on, the boat and the water. But I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Now that I had lots of fun with oil painting, it’s with the greatest delight I’m going back to digital painting (but I’m not giving up on oil, not the least). So, I enjoyed finishing this. It was hyggelig. But I don’t think I’ll be doing something so big again before a while. I will now focus on painting my cut-outs with oils alternating with digital painting (I want to complete my Oracle – there are now 24 cards).
