I wove a fabric for a snood with my hand-spun yarns. The inside of the snood will have the “chenille” fabric on the left (mix of commercial and hand-spun yarns). I used what felt like a huge amount of my hand-spun yarns and in the end, it was just enough for a snood. I’m glad I also dyed the warp, because my hand-spun yarns deserved no less than that.
I’ve just started weaving with my hand-spun yarns and I don’t think I can ever go back to weaving with commercial yarns. It’s like weaving with Moon, Sun and Stars, which reminds me of the Oracle card I’m working on at the moment (Donkey Skin). Every row, I’m like “oh… wow”, totally ravished. I’m glad I also dyed the warp in beautiful variegated colours, my hand-spun yarns wanted to marry only the best.
