Welcome

Welcome to my Inner World.

I am a French self-taught artist, and these past seventeen years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate, my sweet Papillon girls, Lucy and Pixie and the spirit of my border collie, Loki. My creativity is a tribute to the eyes that blink in the heart of every smallest thing, the flowing dreams whose pulse tries to reach to us in our most meditative state.

My Digital Art

Category Archives: Thoughts

My Yule Tree

I’ve finished decorating my first big Christmas Tree and used the ornaments… I meant to sell, oops! I realise that I can’t make duplicates of things, everything has to be one of a kind and that’s not very commercial. On top of that, let’s face it, the chance to sell anything remotely artistic these days is doomed to failure unless you’re the very, very persistent kind and I’m not. I have other preoccupations and fun in art is my one and only aim. Very, very few people pay for art. I also can’t compete with the Chinese market. So that’s my long story just to say I’m giving up entirely. My art is now free from any worry and it is just so… as it should be!

So I hope you too have an area in your life where you can say “fuck it” and just do things for yourself. Money and recognition cannot compensate for the pleasure you would sacrifice to get them.

Here is a Yule Tree to dream by. It contains a whole magical world.img_3711 img_3728 img_3740 img_3742

Hygge is the religion of Soul

Hyggehejsa!

The perfect weather to stay indoors and paint in a perfectly “Hygge” fashion. Religiously. With my favourite Japanese green tea, some praline chocolate and my sweet girls.

Look how they Hygge in each other’s company.

Who needs any kind of dry and dictatorial spirituality when you can have Hygge to your heart’s content? Hygge is within everyone’s reach, it needs so little. I believe we were born to cultivate Hygge as much as we can. This is Nature’s wish and although living conditions might be harsh, it’s any creature’s right to Hygge deep, deep inside. In the heart of every cold and hard rock beaten by winds and rain, there is a little warm light glowing softly. This is why in the Otherworld, there is no need for the sun or the moon, everything glows with Hygge. Simply put, Hygge is contentment … in spite of all the things which refuse to go according to our plans. This is the ultimate freedom. No dogma, no expectations, just the enjoyment of a perfect moment in an imperfect life. Hygge is not indulgence, it’s our natural state. So, Hygge as much as you can, as long as you can, without any guilt, any interference.

Starting a new diorama project on a theme which is very, very dear to me: The snowy town. This is the town of Hygge. I realise now everything I paint has always been about Hygge but I didn’t know there was a word for it.
