Composite Weave

I was weaving with King Cole Country Tweed yarn and although I like this shade very much, there was no magic.

It just didn’t work with my merino warp yarn. So after 50 cm, I decided to try something else. I think this particular tweed yarn will work better with a dark brown warp. I’ve come back to composing with one main yarn and lots of different ornamental yarns here and there. This is my favourite type of weaving. And I also get to add shiny things! Only 10 days til I travel to France for two weeks. I’ll be very busy with sewing and pretty much nothing else (but I still want to watch Wallace and Gromit again, I’ve developed a fondness for these characters). The good news is that I’m getting now slightly better at sewing (I’ve also simplified the hand-made template that I use).
