Welcome to my Inner World. I am a French self-taught artist, and these past twenty years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate,… Continue Reading

White Halloween

It is not quite Halloween here, the atmosphere has passed, I’m afraid, since this morning, there was snow. Lucy was ecstatic. She’s totally mad about snow. And if she could talk, she’d say “totally”.  Or even “totes”. She’s a teenager now. Her first heat has just finished. To think she has to go through this twice a year… poor one. And this lasts close to one month each time.

I dyed some silk yesterday. First time I dye silk and I’m quite pleased with the results. It’s beautiful. I’ll use most of it for my felted figurines’ hair.

The surface of the water in the fjord a few days ago, looked like silk:

Cinematic, classical music, my favourite genre

It’s the right weather for snuggling inside with a dog and a mug of hot chocolate, listening to some classical music. I love classical music, especially when it features a piano that sounds like falling rain. Classical music is pure magic for me. If I feel annoyed or irritated, I just have to play it and I’m instantaneously thrown into another world, a world of fairy tales, adventures or poetic contemplation. I’m totally swept off my feet. I become inhabited by something bigger than me. Classical music has the power to waken up my soul like no other music. Rain music, grotesque shenanigans, refined savagery, hokus pokus, or noble impetus, the music conjures up so many images, scenes and characters that it’s overwhelming. Who knew we had this very defined world in us?

Here is a bit of the music I listen to at the moment:

And here is Lucy snuggling:

And Lucy riding the storm:

And some pictures:

Fairy Garden

If you shy away from the human world and its impossible demands for perfection, a fairy garden is a very good place to find shelter. Shrink your angle to just a tiny sanctuary among the moss and the lichen and stay there. As long as you want. As long as it is necessary. When you look up again, and  be a “grown up”, you will realise you’re safe. It doesn’t always have to be the way we think it should be. We condition ourselves all the time to see problems bigger than they actually are. But… it doesn’t have to be THAT WAY. You are not your problems. In the end, only you decide what you want to be. It’s all up to you.

Red Gold

Lucy loves climbing on rocks. Sometimes on vertical rocks. She keeps trying and being very confident about it, my little rock climber.

Oh I love autumn after the rain! The colors are most vivid and I feel like I’m in a fairy tale. Maybe I am?

I think that in honor of so much beauty around us, we ought to live our lives like fairy tales. Otherwise, there’s a serious mismatch. Truly, that’s the least we can do!
