Welcome to my Inner World. I am a French self-taught artist, and these past twenty years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate,… Continue Reading

Northern lights and… cake

There have been some fantastic northern lights lately, it was so amazing there was actually an article about it in the local newspaper. Thanks to a geomagnetic storm, the aurora was particularly intense, colorful and lasted a long time. So long my neck got stiff, I had to lie in the grass. The angle was interesting and somehow intimidating.

A few pictures taken from my garden:

I love this picture of Lucy, her fur is like silk, so beautiful. Isn’t she a little fairy dog? That was probably the last sunny day we got before a long time.

Here’s a cake:

It’s an apricot one. Delicious. And look who’s hoping for a bite! You will see her in the mirror.

Shadow Play

The sun is now rolling along the edge of the hill just behind the house, and shines timidly through the trees into my room. Today, it hit a mirror whose brightness cast moving shadows on the wall,  the perfect setting for story telling.

I went back to the same heights as two days ago, but this time the sun was shining. It was a totally different place.

And today we went on a walk along the fjord.

I did wonder what Lucy was barking at, when I saw it, four meters behind us. A very, very sweet Highland cow.

First Snow

I finally finished this painting but it won’t be part of a diorama as I had planned. My dog was dying when I was working on this diorama, so it’s now tainted with sadness. I saved this little bit. Meanwhile, I’m working on another painting of a town (but no snow) and it’s very enjoyable. No bad association. Only a Halloween mood.

A bit of Snow

Look at Lucy with her brand new coat! It’s the 5th or 6th (I lost count) and finally… it fits!

This morning, the sun shone on the autumnal trees and surprise, surprise! there was even snow on the mountain tops, which is fairly early. We got unlucky during our walk because it started raining quite a lot. It was beautiful though. I love these heights, it’s a very special place, there’s something very homely about it.
