Welcome to my Inner World

I am a French self-taught artist, and these past twenty years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate, my sweet Papillon girls, Lucy and Pixie and the spirit of my border collie, Loki. My creativity is a tribute to the eyes that blink in the heart of every smallest thing, the flowing dreams whose pulse tries to reach to us in our most meditative state.

Happy Halloween to all my lovely readers! May this night bring magic and wonder. And perhaps a little fright, a delightful shiver of fear that sends you into fits of giggling, like only children know. Remember the loved ones, but also the spirit friends in the Otherworld. They are many. They think of you too and wish you could hear

Two Bowls

I fired at last a few little things before leaving for France in a couple of days. Gosh, I miss working with ceramic, but my time is devoted to a new painting at the moment and each painting takes a huge amount of my time. But that’s allright, because painting is after all my favourite medium. I wish days were

White Halloween

It is not quite Halloween here, the atmosphere has passed, I’m afraid, since this morning, there was snow. Lucy was ecstatic. She’s totally mad about snow. And if she could talk, she’d say “totally”.  Or even “totes”. She’s a teenager now. Her first heat has just finished. To think she has to go through this twice a year… poor one.

Cinematic, classical music, my favourite genre

It’s the right weather for snuggling inside with a dog and a mug of hot chocolate, listening to some classical music. I love classical music, especially when it features a piano that sounds like falling rain. Classical music is pure magic for me. If I feel annoyed or irritated, I just have to play it and I’m instantaneously thrown into

The little bits of my paintings I love the most:

A Totally Random Post Popping Out Of Nowhere:

  • Psyche
psyche1 This is my third digital painting, I spent quite a while on it. It combines two different moods, moonlight, sunlight and, nested inside the trunk, my Blue Bird. I had great fun painting this, enhancing the lights step by step, following the paths over the bridge or past the Vila - a Slavic fairy - in the tree. Either way, you have to pass by the mysterious figure standing by the tree in the middle. This figure is Psyche. Her being is most radiant when she is veiled because no image comes to distract us. She is Soul, permeating everything around her, enchanting, or leading to madness if taken too literally. Psyche's sometimes represented as a moth or butterfly because she's a symbol of transformation. Perpetual transformation. To take Psyche as a guide is to unlearn everything, and be truthful to the inner spark, no matter what others might say. Ask for a direction of Psyche and you will see that she will reply by way of dreams. One thing I would like to do one day is to continue the painting on both sides. You can do that endlessly. But considering that a single painting takes me an average of 3 weeks, it would probably take me a whole year to build this world of paths. It'd be pretty cool though.
