Welcome to my Inner World. I am a French self-taught artist, and these past seventeen years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate,… Continue Reading
Happy Halloween to all my lovely readers! May this night bring magic and wonder. And perhaps a little fright, a delightful shiver of fear that sends you into fits of giggling, like only children know. Remember the loved ones, but also the spirit friends in the Otherworld. They are many. They think of you too and wish you could hear all the profound messages they’re trying to give you. But maybe you can hear them. Can you understand the language of Soul? If not, tonight is THE night.
I fired at last a few little things before leaving for France in a couple of days. Gosh, I miss working with ceramic, but my time is devoted to a new painting at the moment and each painting takes a huge amount of my time. But that’s allright, because painting is after all my favourite medium. I wish days were longer, to accommodate all my passions. I’ve also been very busy with studying for my driving license – the theory part . I disliked so much the subject and the way the questions in the tests format you to a certain way of thinking I was convinced I had very little chance of succeeding because of who I am. Well, well… I might have overdone it a bit because not only I succeeded but I also made 0 mistakes which was unheard of – until me – in this commune. It truly sounded like an elaborate gag. I’m afraid I’m now totally formatted. BUT I passed!
I can’t say I like much the bowls I make, it’s just not the same without a potter’s wheel. Here is a bowl for Lucy (although she still prefers eating from our hands):
Potter’s Choice Arctic Blue over Dark Green
And another little one for … whatever:
Potter’s Choice Oatmeal over Smokey Merlot.
And a mysterious atmosphere:
And a few photos of my hand-dyed silk, just because it’s so beautiful:
It is not quite Halloween here, the atmosphere has passed, I’m afraid, since this morning, there was snow. Lucy was ecstatic. She’s totally mad about snow. And if she could talk, she’d say “totally”. Or even “totes”. She’s a teenager now. Her first heat has just finished. To think she has to go through this twice a year… poor one. And this lasts close to one month each time.
I dyed some silk yesterday. First time I dye silk and I’m quite pleased with the results. It’s beautiful. I’ll use most of it for my felted figurines’ hair.
The surface of the water in the fjord a few days ago, looked like silk:
It’s the right weather for snuggling inside with a dog and a mug of hot chocolate, listening to some classical music. I love classical music, especially when it features a piano that sounds like falling rain. Classical music is pure magic for me. If I feel annoyed or irritated, I just have to play it and I’m instantaneously thrown into another world, a world of fairy tales, adventures or poetic contemplation. I’m totally swept off my feet. I become inhabited by something bigger than me. Classical music has the power to waken up my soul like no other music. Rain music, grotesque shenanigans, refined savagery, hokus pokus, or noble impetus, the music conjures up so many images, scenes and characters that it’s overwhelming. Who knew we had this very defined world in us?
Here is a bit of the music I listen to at the moment:
