Dear dreamers,
Strange days to say the least, but I hope you’re all well and are taking many precautions. Like many, I’m now out of work. I am not confined, I am still free to go on a long walk every day, and naturally, with all this free time at home, not only are my girls delighted, but I can also devote most of my days to my art. Safe at home. I am applying glazes on some hand-built ceramics and I’m about to start a new painted paper diorama. But mostly, I paint on my graphic tablet and it’s a pure delight. I’ve started work on a project I had been thinking about for a long, long time: creating libraries of elements by theme. I’m currently working on greenery, but there will be lots of boards like the one below, filled with mushrooms, moss and lichens, birds, little characters, etc. I love the idea of creating many collections and playing with them, arranging them in a composition. I absolutely love this! Of course I’m aware it will take a huge amount of time before I can paint enough elements to start a composition but why the hurry? As long as I’m having fun, it works for me.
I also did a bit of spinning:
Lofoten is now very quiet, there is far less traffic. You can feel the birds are having the time of their lives. They are everywhere and so much closer. Tourists have gone and it feels like what Lofoten used to be 20 years ago. Of course, I am worried about where this epidemic will lead but we are not there yet. We have to hope that everybody will take their responsibilities seriously and do what is necessary.
As you can see from the pictures, it feels like spring is on its way, but don’t be fooled, it will snow again, as late as the beginning of May. Meanwhile, it was a very nice walk, 5 degrees celcius and the sun was shining.
