I have been working with clay a bit. I have been missing ceramic work for so long (and many other things). These past 10 years, it’s been really difficult to combine a full time job with all my passions. Many have no idea how big a challenge it is. Fortunately, I do not have any children to take care of, but I still have two dogs who must go for long walks every day. It is very hard to not just sit down and watch tv. Every single day, I summon the courage to do something creative and this is how I recharge truly. But the frustration is sometimes intense. I am not entirely sure I will be able to craft when I will finally be retired, because my sight is becoming worse. I will certainly find a way, though. I am very stubborn!
Another painted window in my Snowy Town. This little witch, she looks a bit like me.
My study of German paid off, I can now read my favourite author, Walter Moers, in the original language, which was the goal all along. I started with the easiest books, an adaptation of his novel “The City of Dreaming Books” into a graphic novel in two volumes. I almost finished the second one and I enjoyed it immensely. I am thrilled, there are six books which haven’t been translated into English. Soon, I’ll be going to France to visit my family in France, I bring with me two books, Walter Moers’ Ensel und Krete in German and The travels of Marco Polo which I’ve already started a while ago (so many books to read!) to feed my obsession with the Silk roads.
I love my altar!
