I am a French self-taught artist, and these past twenty years I have made Norway my home. Moving to the Lofoten islands was the greatest present I ever made to myself and the Arctic landscapes are indeed a true treat for any artist’s eyes. I live with my British soulmate, my sweet Papillon girls, Lucy and Pixie and the spirit of my border collie, Loki. My creativity is a tribute to the eyes that blink in the heart of every smallest thing, the flowing dreams whose pulse tries to reach to us in our most meditative state.
I love cursed characters. Â When I was a child I loved operas, especially by Wagner. The first opera I ever saw was the Flying Dutchman and it left a deep mark on me. Â When I recently saw the Promise by Kaige Chen, I had trouble putting up with some truly bad acting BUT fell instantly in love with Snow Wolf.
This is one of the very few instances where I used some photographic references: all the plant species represented here actually exist in tropical areas. Music is a huge part of my life. Music is pure magic, how something so subjective can completely blow your mind remains a mystery. Like love. Music is the ultimate divine language. This is my interpretation of the Fatas, Norns or Parques. These ones don’t spin but play the symphony of our lives, our moods, and the shiny stuff
I had the hardest time trying to finish this painting because of all these tiny houses. Every time I finish painting this sort of city, I think “never again”, but then I can’t resist the temptation for too long.
