Paper Dioramas made with Mixed Media

These dioramas are mostly made of wood painted with water soluble oil.

New Diorama

Back to my favourite town, the town I sometimes dream of, the Hygge town. It has just snowed, I’m not sure whether it’s the morning or the evening, the light changes constantly. I’ll have to pause the making of my dioramas and work on cutout ornaments for Christmas.

Lucy’s Soul

I really suck at taking decent pictures of my artwork, I am truly terrible at this. I will try again when it’s hanging on the wall. This is a Soul Portrait of Lucy. I will make one for Pixie too, when she’ll be a bit older. There are 8 layers of cutouts and it’s painted with Cobra oils. I think it’s realistic enough because my dogs started barking at it. Everyone is an island

I’m having a cosy day at home with Lucy and Pixie, while outside the rain’s falling continuously. I’ve finished my second painted cutout. It’s a topic which is dear to me: the island. I rediscovered the pleasure of mixing my colors on the palette and the soft touch of the paintbrush. I haven’t decided what to do with it yet. My home doesn’t have enough space to store my own art. Maybe, I’ll keep producing and try selling on a Christmas market. or something similar. I have so many ideas… this is going to be fun.

Cutouts

I’ve been wanting to go back to physical painting for a while. I have so many good memories of painting on big wooden boards, drinking tea, and being careful not to drop the paintbrush in the cup (which nevertheless happened more often than I can recall). So I got a scroll saw machine and reopened my box of oils. THIS IS FUN! I still paint the draft digitally, colors, shades and all, which I find very practical (it’s also quick and it gives me an idea of the final result, even if I’ll improvise a bit on the way). These COBRA oils are fantastic, they dry so fast and they are diluted
